Winter of Shirakawa-go surrounded by mountains of Hida comes when leaves of the beech or the magnolia hypoleuca. Then our village will be covered with much snow and all over the white. But once spring comes to our village, we can find Japanese butterbur at first. They were waiting for spring under the ground while long winter. Spring begins digging the ground though leaves of the bud or flowers are also still hard. We may feel gentle wind and light of the sun and find out a bracken flowering fern appear all at once, they seems the star of the mountains.

Restaurant ‘Chubei and Kikori’ are located on the south entrance of World heritage Shirakawa-go, ogi-machi. The famous three old houses ‘Gassho-tsukuri’ are the points for the pictures. Canon Website introduces that Chubei is the best point.
